A nameless Ukrainian poet wrote and recited a poetic appeal - in perfect Russian! - to the Russian soldiers who are now killing and dying on his land. He asks them why they have to play the role of cannon fodder doing dirty job for their obscenely rich rulers - instead of breaking away from the ranks, rising up and revolving? A good question, indeed. The Russian soldiers - many of them Ukrainians - who rose up in revolt against Tsardom during yet another meaningless war, back in 1917, ended up forever changing human history. It is Kremlin, rather than Kyiv, that Russia’s rank-and-file soldiers should be storming now….
