Rabbi Eli Schlinger, who was killed in an armed attack in Sydney on Sunday, had previously visited Israel and met with Israeli soldiers, encouraging them to continue the war of genocide against the Gaza Strip, an Israeli television channel and an Israeli activist have revealed.
Schlinger was among 12 people killed and at least 29 others wounded during an armed attack that took place during Hanukkah celebrations at Bondi Beach in Sydney, according to Australian authorities. The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation (Kan) confirmed that Schlinger was an emissary of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement in Australia.
Israeli activist and journalist Hanoch Daom wrote on Instagram that Schlinger travelled to Israel following 7 October 2023, where he met with Israeli soldiers to offer what Daom described as “support and encouragement” during the ongoing military campaign in Gaza.
Israel’s Channel 12 later broadcast an image showing Schlinger sitting among Israeli soldiers atop a military vehicle. The broadcaster did not clarify where or when the photograph was taken, nor whether it was inside the Gaza Strip.
Schlinger’s social media accounts show that he used the image of himself with Israeli soldiers as his profile picture on both Facebook and Instagram, openly expressing support for the Israeli army.
The Chabad-Lubavitch movement has long rejected Palestinian national rights and opposes any political settlement that would grant Palestinians sovereignty over occupied territory.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has, for more than two years, resulted in the killing of over 70,000 Palestinians and the wounding of more than 171,000 others, most of them women and children, according to Palestinian health authorities and international organisations. The campaign has triggered widespread international condemnation and deepened Israel’s global isolation.

one of the those murdered in this horrific attack went to Israel to offer support after the horrific, bigoted attack of October 7th.
I wonder why MEMO seeks to publish this far-from-central and far-from-relevant thing.

Time to ship supporters of Palestine off to Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran where they can live in peace and happiness, enjoying all the benefits of Shariah law.

Sydney’s Jewish leaders have led a vigil and prayers outside the Bondi Pavilion as they returned to the iconic beach to mourn those killed in the deadly mass shooting at Sunday’s Hanukkah event.
Flowers piled up outside the pavilion as mourners, including many Jewish people and rabbis, arrived on Monday to pay their respects to the 15 people, including a 10-year-old child, who were killed in the father-son attack on Sunday. One of gunmen was also killed.
Community leaders said their long-held fears that Sydney Jews would be targeted by terrorists had played out in the most devastating way on the first day of Hanukkah, the festival of lights.
NSW Board of Deputies president David Ossip said the Bondi terror attack was the “day that we have long dreaded”.
“We, as a community, have warned repeatedly that it was only a matter of time until blood was spilt during the summer of terror earlier this year,” Ossip said on Monday. “Last night, tragically, our luck ran out when our community was subjected to a heinous terrorist attack.”
Ossip said antisemitism had “well and truly” found a place in Australia, and pleaded with leaders across the country to increase efforts to tackle hate speech against Jews.
Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief executive Alex Ryvchin said the attack represented an “almighty blow” to the Jewish community and he feared the community would “never recover”.
“A community is but a family, and our family was ripped apart,” Ryvchin said. “Our family has been shredded.”
A vigil of about 50 people broke out in prayer and Jewish song just after midday as many others watched on in silence. Bondi man and respected music scholar Kim Cunio sang the Kaddish, a hymn recited in Jewish prayers sessions.
Prayers were led by Rabbi Yossi Friedman. He arrived in Bondi early on Monday morning after a sleepless night.
“I just wanted to be here,” he said.“I found a way to get through the police bollards with many others. I wanted to do my prayers here and pray for the victims and those who are trying to heal.”
In a video message from Jerusalem overnight, Coogee Rabbi Elozer Gestetner said he was “shocked and heartbroken” by the news.
“Who would have believed and expected such a thing,” Gestetner said.
He urged the members of his synagogue to “stand tall and proud, you are the characters and heroes of history being made in Australia and it’s a sad, sad history”.
“If you can ride horseback on Bondi Beach with a Palestinian flag, this is what happens as a follow-on,” he said.
Marc Hochstadt, the son of a Holocaust survivor, said he was experiencing a mix of anger and sadness as he sat alone near the lifesaving club in North Bondi.
“We were a lucky country,” the 58-year-old said.

Interesting that a rabbi (supposedly a man of peace) would make a link between somebody riding a horse and carrying a flag and a mass killing. I don't suppose a Palestinian walking a poodle and holding a banana would be any different. And in the entire lengthy article, not one word of the Muslim hero that saved their lives so they could regurgitate more racist hatred.

Indeed, but you should read the words of the ''rabbis'' who wanted to genocide Palestinians and didn't care at all about the Israeli POW"s and hostages - now they are caging Palestomians in concentration camps in the West Bank

Their last outing at Bondi in September saw them out with neo nazis attacking Jews against the occupation at a peaceful paddle out, claiming Bondi belongs to the jews, that the protestors should piss off and one lovely little thing said she hoped the peaceful protestors all got raped.

Since hatred is not going to disappear, these murderous attacks by jihadis on Jews, ought to be convincing enough to take adequate protection at get-togethers, independently of the local and state security forces. After 07Oct2023, if Jews worldwide want to survive, they must organise themselves in self-protection units, and in parallel work with law-enforcement. After two years of threats in Australia, the idea of relying on local enforcement, is poor judgement, in that they will nearly always arrive too late. The only real-time protection is by the folks themselves.

But some of the hatred DID disappear, when the genocide-cheerleading Rabbi Eli Schlinger was killed. I don't condone the murder of innocents anywhere. He was not an innocent. Your call for Jews to arm themselves against attacks from "jihadis" brings up the question: What is the difference between a Palestinian arming themselves to protect their land, lives, and freedom from murder and dispossession, and what you're espousing? Does it only work one way? Do the goyim not also deserve to live their lives without the fear that they'll be killed by a Jew?

supporting people mourning and angered after a a genocidal massacre committed on Oct 7 does not make of anyone a cheerleader for genocide.
and it certainly does NOT render him NOT innocent.
you are thinking isn a warped way or your thinking is based upon things not evident.

Various groups in Australian community whether acting illegally or not are prepared for this. They are well known as being gangland or bikey social club members. All must adhere to local laws or face the scrutiny of law enforcement agencies. There is no beings of humans with special status in Australia, just those who have progressed in employment to lead many businesses or represent influential organizations. But the way a number of individuals have gained their wealth needs to be questioned. Australia is not Israel where Jews only have special status in the community.
