当時の状況を思うに、これはかなり勇気のいることだったろう。
柳は、具体的な支配の現状には触れずに、ひたすら朝鮮美術の美しさを訴えている。
奈良時代の百済観音について、それは、日本の美ではなく、朝鮮の美と呼ぶべきだ、という主張は、実に大胆で、今日でさえ、議論を呼びそうな主張だ。
言葉の一つ一つに、柳の朝鮮への愛が溢れている。

I must say, it was the title that caught my interest (and maybe later on the blurb), but goodness, I was captured after the second paragraph on the very first page of the story. It did not disappoint.
I know that im just adding one more five star review to many others but i just can't help it ! This was one of those books I could not put down but also didn't want it to end.

This was a great book. Loved it from cover to cover.
There was nothing about this novel that would cause me to take a star off. The last few pages are not the best, but it is not enough for me to take a star off.
I started this book and I was hooked before chapter one. In the introduction letter it felt like the author was calling me out.

This book is one I will definitely be reading again at a slower pace to soak up every nuance I missed the first time. There are very, very few books I read twice, but this one is on my list! I loved it!!!
Overall I give this book 5 stars. I was sad to see the story end. I was left wanting more, such much more. Not because the book was unfinished, but because the story was so beautiful written.
