A diasporic Chinese professor teaching a hard-line anti-Communist version of China's contemporary history to a Chinese student who evidently accepts the "managerial legitimacy" of CCP ("don't we live much better now thanks to the Communist Party?"). Well, I would be cautious about the figures this professor operates with (many of these figures appear greatly inflated). Still, an important takeout from the videos like this is: there are many ways to identify oneself as a Chinese person in the 21st C. And some of these Chinese identities do NOT involve identifying oneself with the PRC party-state; on the contrary, they are built on the unmitigated enmity towards the CCP.
