Cruel truth is what both individuals and groups need most - and fear most. Here is one portion of this bitter medicine - for Israeli society. If the aims of the war were the full destruction of Hamas and the release of the hostages (and not the slaughter of Gaza civilians), then these aims were NOT fulfilled. In strategic terms, it is a defeat.
