NARPI 2022: Special Online & Local Alternative to the 2022 Summer Peacebuilding Training

Background

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NARPI Steering Committee agreed to postpone the in-person Summer Peacebuilding Training that was scheduled to take place in Mongolia, to next year (2023).

After completing eight Online NARPI! (ON!) workshops from August 2021-March 2022, planned by the ON! Team, we experienced that meaningful connection is possible online, and we wanted to build on what was started with ON!, with an alternative program this August.

This August, we will create space for online discussion between people in the NARPI network – in small groups (5-6 participants; 2 co-facilitators), and on topics of common interest to both participants and facilitators.
We will ask that participants plan their own NARPI-style local field trips.

* If you’re interested in joining NARPI 2022: Special Online & Local Alternative to the 2022 Summer Peacebuilding Training, please read the information below.

Evening Events

At NARPI trainings, meaningful sharing and learning continues after classes have finished each day. Some evening events are planned by the hosting group, to introduce more about the historical, cultural or social issues of the hosting area. Most evening events, though, are planned by participants, as a way to share their interests or experiences with others, through presentations, videos and discussion. In addition, there is a Culture and Talent Night in Week 2, during which time participants and facilitators present their cultures through song, dance, games, food, photos, etc.
