The Israeli army killed a Palestinian medical doctor for refusing to abandon his patients

Dr Mahmoud Abunejeila, 38 years old, was killed with other two medical colleagues while at the Al Awda hospital in northern Gaza saving lives. He was working for and with Doctors Without Borders (
@MSF
). They refused to leave their patients behind.

He said right before his killing: “We as doctors will not abandon our patients, and we still have hope that the world will not abandon us, not for our sake as medical staff, but for the sake of the patients. Don't let us down.”

Dr Mahmoud leaves a wife and three beautiful children.

We have let them down,

And now we have their cold, dead bodies to answer to.

I am so sorry for the unfairness that they had to suffer while the world could only watch from the sidelines.

We will remember this.

What a beautiful man. I'm so sorry for his wife, children and MSF.  It takes extremely special people to put their lives on the line for others.

Zionism has been an absolute catastrophe for humanity in general and Palestinians in particular. It hasn't made Jews any more secure either .

He broke my heart. He should have known the world would let him down. Evil Zionism has convinced the world we don’t matter at all. US and world bank only eyeing oil pipelines . How do we fight such evil. Only together. It’s good vs evil. Free Palestine

May Dr Mahmoud and all his colleagues rest in peace. Thank you for all your love, care and kindness. May all those killed, rise above the troubles of this world. May all those hurt or in mourning find comfort and solace in this life. May God forgive us.
