Excellent movie , maybe not quite as realistic as it could be but much better than the 1950s movies made in the good old USA portraying the Chinese soldier as a mindless automaton though their Soviet inspired tactics were shameful and caused horrendous casualties to the rank and file. Russia never learned that lesson. The US of course acts like they and they alone fought the Korean war just like WW2 didn't begin till Pearl Harbour. One thing though the US Army gave us the slang Bug Out , a mindless rout dropping weapons and leaving vast amounts of equipment behind in a rush to flee. What many don't realize is the Viet Minh in the French Indochina war were heavily equipped with captured US Korean war weapons donated to Uncle HO by the Chinese government as they were well equiped with Soviet Weaponry. In no way as a disclaimer am l in any way in favour of Communism and Putin the Puke is a good example , just l also do not like revisionary history practiced by the self proclaimed Greatest Nation on Earth. There current election debacle is testament to how great they aren't.

Im curious where you are from? Americans generally think ww2 began when Hitler invaded Poland in 1939. Ive never met a person who thought ww2 began with Pearl Harbor and it isnt taught that way anywhere in schools. If there is criticism to be made in regards to that, it would be the European bias in not considering the Japanese invasion of China in 1937 to be the start of ww2.
