the Israeli
Society had surrounded
itself with shields with walls not only
physical walls but also mental
walls I don't want to get into it
because it's another lecture but I'll
just give the three principles which
enable us Israelis to live so easily
with this brutal
reality a most of the Israelis if not
all of them deeply believe that we are
the chosen people and if we are the
chosen people we have the right to do
whatever we
want
B there were more brutal occupations in
history there were even longer
occupations in history even though the
Israeli occupation gets to quite a nice
record but there was never in history an
occupation in which the occupier
presented himself as the victim not only
the victim the only victim around
this also enable any Israeli to live in
peace because we are the victims the
other day Professor FAL spoke about this
dual strategy of Israel of being a
victim on one hand and manipulating the
other on the other hand after what
happened in Paris and in Copenhagen with
the terror attacks Benjamin atan came
with the notion all the Jews must come
to Israel it's the safest place for the
Jews in the world
it's a shelter for the Jews in the world
which is wrong because Israel is to
today the most dangerous place on Earth
for Jews but let's put it aside it was
only 24 hours later when he said Israel
is an existential threat under the
Iranian
bomb and I asked
myself how can you dare call Jews to
come and to join this suicidal project
when the Iranian are going to bomb
us
but in Israel every everything goes and
both decorations were accepted
as as the only truth and here I get to
the
third set of values which enable us
Israelis to live in peace with the
occupation and this is maybe the most
crucial one and the worst one we say
victimization we said chosen
people when I say victimization it goes
without saying we have to mention the
Holocaust and the unforgettable Mrs
Golda that the American Jury had
exported to Israel she said once this
Unforgettable woman that after the
Holocaust the Jews have the right to do
whatever they
want but the third set of values is the
most dangerous one and this is the
systematic dehumanization of the
Palestinians which enable us Israelis to
live in in peace with everything because
if there are not human beings like us
then there is not really a question of
Human
Rights and if you scretch under the skin
of almost every Israeli you will find it
there almost no one will treat the
Palestinians as equal human beings like
us I once wrote that we treat the
Palestinians like animals and I got so
many protest letters from animal rights
organizations rightly
so
but by the end of the day how many
Israelis did
ever try for a moment to put themselves
in the place of the Palestinians for a
moment for one day and I want to give
you two examples which will demonstrate
it many years ago I interviewed then
candidate for prime minister a Barak and
I asked him a question which I try to
ask in any
occasion Mr Barack what would have
happened if you would have been born
Palestinian and Barack gave me then the
only honest answer he could give me he
said I would have joined a terror
organization what else would have he
done would he become a poet he doesn't
know to write poems would he become a
Pianist he's quite a bad pianist and I
doubt if he would have become a
collaborator because he is a
fighter and it became a scandal because
how can you dare to put out Barack to
think what would have happened if he
would have become a Palestinian and the
second incident
briefly second def the city of Janine
the most closed City in the West Bank
real total Siege I go out from Janine I
come to the checkpoint a Palestinian
ambulance is parking there with the red
lights I stand after him no cars can get
out of Janine in those days no cars can
get in and I wait the soldiers are
playing Beamon in the
tent usually I know I know myself it's
better that I don't get into
confrontation with the soldiers because
it always ends up very badly so I stayed
in the car but after 40 minutes I
couldn't take it and I went out to the
car from the car I went first to the
Palestinian ambulance driver and asked I
asked him what's going on he told me
that's the routine they let me wait 1
hour until they come and check the
ambulance and I couldn't take it anymore
and I went to the soldiers it became a
confrontation but the question that they
asked them which really brought them to
direct their weapons toward me was
one what would have happened if your
father would have been lying in this
ambulance this freaked them out they
lost control how can I Dare to Compare
between their father and the Palestinian
in the
ambulance and this set of beliefs that
they are not human beings like us enable
us Israelis to live in so much
peace with those crimes ongoing crime
for so many
years
with losing any kind of humanity
Humanity values I heard today people
talk about Jewish values I must be frank
with you I don't know what are Jewish
values I know what are Universal values
let's not get into it
[Applause]

I am East Asian and visited Israel for a month in college. I was there to teach engineering concepts to high schoolers. They often asked me what I thought of Palestine, and I'd tell them "You know, as a guest in your country, I'm learning a lot and I don't think I know enough to say" to try and be polite. These children would then gleefully tell me how much they hated the Palestinians, how they were like cockroaches. One child even compared them to the mindless giants in "Attack on Titan" and that they needed to be exterminated. Later that day, a child asked me about my country, Japan, and pulled back his eyes to do the racist "squinty" face. I got a little upset, and asked him how he would like it if I made a sign of a big nose while asking about Jewish people. He got very mad at me. I have never been more terrified of, and sorry for, a group of children in my life.

@Zodroo_Tint  Idk about that buddy lol Japan is kinda infamous for war crime denial
93
@Zodroo_Tint If you get get kicked out of 1 bar, they're an asshole. If you get kicked out of 100 bars, you're an asshole.
204
The Israelis had the idea that they are somehow sacred, and they think that its okay to look down on people
449
@q.m9094  as are many others rather racist
10
@Zodroo_Tint  - the Japanese at that time held on to the belief that they were a superior people with a divine right to oppress their neighbors (to take their lands, to dehumanize their people). It did not end well, that campaign. I believe that with Israel it will not end well either.
180
I was having a conversation with an Israeli woman I met at the bar in Acre when I was visiting, after a while she was so impressed and was like “you’re so intelligent like a French, I would have never thought you’re an Arab” (her thinking this is a compliment, and even worse the bartender nodding in approval) they’re all brainwashed to the bone in there
3.2K
"I never heard of a victim that occupies and bombs their oppressor 24/7."
1.5K
"A noble heart will refuse happiness built on misfortune of others."
488
"If you're not careful the newspapers will have you believing the oppressors are the victims and the victims are the oppressors " Malcolm X.

I sat at a wedding next to a Palestinian man who is a United Airline pilot. He had to leave his home in Israel as a boy, grew up in Sweden, then came to the US to get a university education. He told me as we sat there that his village and ancestral home was being bulldozed by the Israeli army. I can't tell you how fast your opinion changes when the Palestinian people start telling you their experiences.
1.3K
This speech was released in 2015. Amazing.
1K
Guys this is Gideon Levy. I'm a propalestinina Lebanese and I Respect and love this man. He's the only journalist who writes about the oppressed.
190
The way Mr. Levy described how most Israelis think really got under my skin because it's scary to even for a moment think that someone can see you as less of a human than them just because you are different.
1.5K
The points is truly Narsistic Psychopath : 😂 * We are the choosen people * We can do whatever we want * When occupiers thinking themselves as Victim
425
"There were more brutal occupations in history". Well, looks like Netanyahu took that personally and has made it his goal to fix it.
326
As a muslim i have deep respect for gideon levy for his honesty
163
After watching this video I have to say I respect this man immensely. He is not Israely, he is not Palestinian he is HUMAN.
1.2K
The fact that Israelis held a RAVE mere kilometers away from the world's largest and longest lasting open air prison/concentration camp tells it all...
2.1K
That's the craziest part really, when they can do all of that near Tel Aviv
161
@albertp3721  it's a nature party and there are plenty in the desert in Israel. Because they go into the morning hours an open space away from cities is where they host them. This way they don't need to worry about breaking any noise laws around towns, cities and kibbutzim. Secondly there is nothing wrong with the location. It's within Israel's borders and that specific location has hosted many many nature parties. That's not the first there at that location. What about the kibbutzim and city right next to Gaza ? People are complaining about 1 party when there is kibbutzim literally 4km away from gaza and been there for years.
59
@NickyRikki I think the issue is not a practical, noise, or municipal ordinance kind of thing. But the fact that they organize a big party right next to where millions of people are being brutalized for years now. That goes to what the speaker was talking about Israelis leaving at peace with their crimes.
351
That was the first thing I thought after Oct 7... how utterly disrespectful to hold such a frivolous thing so close to the wall. It'll like rubbing your freedom right in there faces!!
213
as if Israel top defense system really got breached, and as if that rave wasnt placed there, as if the IDF actually prayed all those kids at the rave, needing dead bodies to justify another "mowing the lawn"
97
@bolivarneira5838  what about the kibbutzim/ cities literally next to Gaza ? You don't think they celebrate Jewish holidays, cultivate the land, enjoy family gatherings , celebrate Israel independence day ? I lived in kibbutz Dorot which used to be Huj an Arab village in the 30s and 40s... That's walking distance from gaza. We had many events, gatherings, parties , even weddings. People going about their lives. What is different about a nature party which is even further away than Kibbutz Dorot.
20
Enough with these empty words. Either prove your claims or stop with the nonsense. Gaza was freely governed by the palestinans. Maybe you should look at history to see what a concentration camp looks like. I don't know any prison either where you can build tunnels and shoot rockets freely.
37
@bengalloway6812  they're figuratively dancing on the tomb of the Palestinians, which is Gaza
85
This is one of the most insightful things about the conflict that I have seen. I salute his bravery, and clear moral vision.
444
I have noticed, since watching the video, quite a few instances of Jews saying this same thing. "If a person acts like a human, I will treat him like a human. if he acts like an animal I will treat him like an animal." The wording was very similar in each case, so it sounds like they're repeating something that they're all been taught.
8
not a conflict but rather a genocide. the word conflict makes the situation seem far less severe than what it is
6
To hear this from a Israeli actually as a Palestinian gives me hope that one day there will be peace if there is a one state that is equal for all
193
I’m Israeli and I support 2 states, Israel and Palestine
8
When I was young there was a way in my country and I learned that the real heroes are those who risk being called traitors by their own people who don't want to hear the truth. ❤
11
he's a very rare man that can see over that iron bubble of privilege that the chosen people live behind
3
I don’t think, now, that a two state solution is what should happen. Walls should be torn and the borders should blend…under what name who knows? but an only jewish state is impossible to exost in this day espacially when you are seperating ancestral land (illegally) and bringing in more immigrant than helping the indegenous. It should happen like it happened in south africa that is the solution IMO. The region has too many religions and is the birthplace of the 3 main religion of today and to have one claiming they are sacred and deserve to live there based on a book written by a man who preached the words of a “god” and using this argument in the 20-21st century is mindblowing. It’s like saying we have more claim to the lands in aftica because we had one commin homosapian ancestor and kenya (i think) was where humanity began. We also forget that the region back then also had different ethnicities and was were the main hunter/gatheres started hatvest. the middle east is not like japan, china and south korea it is not a place where we can be homogenous. We has so many civilizations and conquest that happened there that somehow a homogenous country to try and exist (when all their jews comes from somewhere) and are trying to expell tjose that have a deep connection with their birthplace is wild and toxic. It should be part of history but should not happen again because ot would create one of the biggest rifts yet again (as seen with the UN resiluyion of the Oslo accords that were not respected by mostly the israeli government) and will divide society more. The brainwashing needs to stop in both the west and israel and american jews (or wherever they come from) should stop coming because they think they have a bigger right to the land then a native. And this should also hopefully start a discussion about the natives trive in the US territories including alaska and the polynesian group. It’s starting in canada (not enough) but it’s starting.
5
Amazing you still want ti live next to them.
"The only oppressors in history to portray themselves as the victim" This is the first time I've heard someone else say this, let alone an Israeli. Thank you for speaking the truth.
711
Not necessarily, it happened other times, for example in turkey where there is a monument dedicated to the 'turk genocide', wich is used to hide the armenian genocide.
29
The Palestinians are constantly bleating about their victim status so......
6
@everclear420  Because they are. Just think for a moment about which side has more power over the other. There is plenty of blame to go around (not that that is something we should focus on if we want long-lasting peace, so "who's the bigger victim" rhetoric won't get us anywhere anyway), buut for the past couple of decades, the power imbalance has just been so massive. Portraying it in the way you do is if white people in the US started talking about "racism against white people" and if told that wasn't cool said "black people are constantly bleating about racism against them so..." I'm sure there are plenty of POC in the US who held deep resentment against white people, and there might even have been some truy terrible acts committed because of that. That's terrible; but it doesn't mean, largely, that white people in the US are "the victim", or as a society in danger from POC.
24
Every oppressor, at least in the era of of concepts like liberal subjectivity has.
2
Only? As if russia hasn't been playing victim since 2014. Don't forget the USA when they invade Iraq and to some extent Afghanistan.
4
@egoldy420 Anytime someone says they need guns to defend their home I think of the Palestinians.
4
It's an observation that has been made many times throughout history, but it is immediately gaslighted as being "antisemitic".
4
Mr Levy is an honest man having the corage to oppose lies of his country and telling us the truth about apartheid, racism, violence ans hate toward palestinien people.Respect!
264
The concept of "choosen people" is NOT different from "superior race" of Nazis.😏 It will entail impunity!
2.6K
"Manifest destiny" is another one.
211
A lot of people get it twisted. They were the chosen people to bring Jesus into the world; not as a free license to kill and destroy. It’s been perverted and, sadly, my fellow Christians stand by and support it.
128
@chriskoschik391 that's not their understanding of the "chosen people" claim. But in reality I find that all religious people essentially have a belief that they are the"chosen" ones. They all believe that their religion is the "right" one. The one that most closely represents God's intention for mankind. When you think about it it's a rather narcissistic way to think. Because it implies that the individual is so special that God either arranged for them to be born into the "right" religion, or to lead them to it.
82
@chriskoschik391  Chosen people or not - so many people think they are more important than the next guy.
40
@chriskoschik391  strictly prohibits in the Torah idol worship of human and man..... Jesus in Judaism is considered a heretic and idol worship. Chosen people means light upon the nations to deliver gods message. Not some Jesus that people idolize
11
@NickyRikki  I’ll agree to disagree with you, as we obviously have very different point of views, but even if you believe that the messiah is still forthcoming and not Jesus, the Bible is very clear that God chose Abraham’s seed to bring the savior. As to your second point, I completely agree that there are denominations of Christianity that worship Jesus as an idol and even have physical statues of Him, Mary, and the saints, which is absolutely idolatry. These are not founded on anything in the New Testament and are a creation of man, not God. God was very clear that you shall not make graven images of anything on heaven or earth. Please have a great day 😀
11
Also "Lebensraum".
16
why today do many nations use their past history as a justification for the future?
25
Words can not describe the respect and appreciation I feel towards your brave and fair perspective. You are one of a kind. God bless you from Jordan
28
When I started watching this video I had a hard time making it out. But then I realized that I was listening to someone saying the quiet parts out loud about Israel. How refreshing.
92
Brought tears to my eyes honestly mr Saad knowing perhaps there’re jews out there with a heart who speaks the truth. God bless
98
Bravo Monsieur Gedeon, honesty is the best virtue!
43
What brave person with such moral clarity!
41
What a heroic outsider, talking truth to power. Right on Gideon Levy! 👏👏👏
126
Such a superb and eloquent speaker - without any anger he presents the basis of Israel's evil in the most matter of fact way.
553
well said . How can people be so evil? You think they would know better. They can not say what happened to them was bad and then to go do worse.
6
Why throw in the respectability bs? He’d be well within his right to express these points with anger and rage and loud inflection if he were so inclined to do so! I loved his subtle humor and eloquent speech, but he would have been great either way!!!
6
What evil?
@xpusostomos Racist, colonialist, occupationist, imperialistic evil... What else??.
5
@glynemartin  nonsense meaningless words... You can't occupy, colonize, or be imperial to your own country. That requires a colonial power pulling the strings in the colony. There is no such colonial power.
2
I have never before watched a video of Gideon Levy speaking. I need to remember that there are Jews of high moral character who call out for mercy for the Palestinians, if not for outright justice for their cause. On their own, they can't overcome the brutal power of Zionism. But they can dispel the notion that being Pro-Palestine = Anti-Semitism.
89
Thanks a lot Mr. Gideon Levy , your family, kids and parents must be very proud of you.
33
Respect for saying the truth. Anyone who says isroel is not a racist apartheid state, they live in denial. Thank you mr. Levy & stay safe
126
How is Israel an apartheid? Can you define apartheid?
1
@davidtrak2679 <--- agonizing, painful self denial enters the chat...
8
@glynemartin  Yet, you still cannot define apartheid.
@davidtrak2679  United Nations investigators, various human rights groups, and the ANC have all deemed Isrsel to be an apartheid state. I personally never asked them to define apartheid to my preference. Maybe you should...??..
12
@glynemartin And yet all of them stand to gain from Israel’s humiliation. They had something against Israel before they made those decisions and not much about Israel was changed in their minds.
@aycc-nbh7289  FYI The elephant in the room, the true problem is ZIONISM AND ZIONISTS. Not Judaism or Israel. What specific issue did they have against so-called "Israel" from the past to your reckoni ng?
3
I was sitting near a Jewish woman and her son in a Brooklyn restaurant and overheard her saying it’s her dream to live amongst her people in Israel. Her son rolled his eyes and asked her why. She said she would feel safe amongst her people because everyone is anti semitic. Her son noticed me stifling a smile while he laughed at her. “Really mom? You think you’ll be SAFER in Israel?” She responded “The IDF is there to protect us.” “Well we have cops and military in the US but that still doesn’t mean you’ll be protected.” His mom got annoyed and got up to leave. He looked right at me and said “They really got her. She is brainwashed…” I felt bad for him. He wanted to keep her out of harms way but her tribalism was stronger than her rationale.
335
I'm shocked he wasn't brainwashed though
21
@naimasophie It's about time that we addressed the abuse of the term "wash" which denotes some modicum of "cleansing". You wash your hands and face to cleanse them. The mom was brain- POLLUTED. The son seems to have been brain- WASHED.
24
You didnt even notice that you proved her right in your comment though - im sure you made up the at least 60% of that story if not all of it, but even if you didnt by what you described in that comment she is right to feel that way. its exactly how people felt in Germany in the 30's and looked what happened. such hypocrisy, vanity hubris in this comment section. disgusting.
7
When Hamas waged war on Oct. 7th i literally was thinking of leaving Israel for the safety of my kids after I escaped southern Israel with nothing, but after seeing the rise in antisemitism globally and hate crimes towards Jews i realized that I really am safer here. At least here I know my enemies and don't have to hide my identity. If i left Israel i don't know who my enemies are because it could be literally anyone.
6
Cool story never happened
7
 @glynemartin  Impossible but noble try.
1
@sandraabu3797  Always the victim. So transparent. :)
20
@sandraabu3797  You think just because someone is your same faith or ethnicity that they can't be your enemy? In that case I'm a Sephardic Ethiopian prince with 5 million USD to put into your bank account...
10
 @ChartreuseDan  Beta Israel aren't Sephardic.
1
This story is incredibly fake.
6
If that story was true then thats a smart kid.
2
And then you woke up.
3
@sandraabu3797  Gosh! The whole world must be against you to feel THAT paranoid!
8
This boy deserves an award😂👏
Laughing at a person anxious about his security due to fear of antisemitism is weird..... In my opinion we should have more empathy towards indoctrinated civilians, even if we understand that this fear can easily be manipulated, especially nowadays when lots of jews confuse antizionism with antisemitism and feel threatened (btw some of the antizionists are indeed antisemitic so this fear is somehow valid)
1
@danielmazour4428  bro there's more islamaphobia than anti semitism. It's more prevalent. "More empathy for indoctrinated civilians" where are they indoctrinated?!? Also how do you know the people that are against zionists are anti semitic. Would you say the same for holocaust survivors that spoke out about isreal.
6
The woman has never been to Israel , sonny boy has never been to Israel and you have never been to Israel so there be no righteous argument here ...!!!!
1
A psychiatrist you?
1
@keirfarnum6811  you obviously have never lived in a war zone. Lucky you!
@Jayne-sl well islam grows everyday so keep crying about it 😂😂
4
@ozymandias7592 you are proving the speaker right when you decide to believe lies and can’t tell who is being truthful
1
@sandraabu3797 first get the facts right. The war did not start on Oct 7th. Its been on going since 1948
1
@Togetherwestanddividedwefall  1948...you mean when the palestinans and surrounding arab countries started a war against Israel and against all odds lost? They never learn.
@ozymandias7592 , but wouldn't it make sense for her to realize her dream.then?
I am an Arab and for whatever differs between us this man deserves much much respect because if I were in his position I wouldn't ever ever dare to tell this truth about my own people
436
What about Son of HAMAS
6
 @grahamt5924  what about i s r a e l propa ganda? 🤔 and their actors they desperately keep trying to pay 🤣
48
@grahamt5924  He literally fled Israel and can never return to his hometown
7
@davidtrak2679  Yea, speaking up about HAMAS is a death penalty.
5
Incredible speech
8
He is like spokesman of conscience... it is really amazing that when you look to his mimics and body language you can see the sincerity ...
61
This man is a great reminder never to generalise. Have a lot of love for this guy 👍✌
33
You can find a thousand podcasts decrying Israels war crimes in Gaza, but few people look below the surface at the complicated, horrifying and unbelievable truth. Thank you Gideon Levy.
67
Im from Spain, i started a communications agency with three guys from Israel, onle lived in Barcelona, another in Madrid and another in Tel Aviv. They hired me to work for them & develope the business here in Spain. After one year working with them I went into depression & i had to quit. They sucked my energy & my blood. Worst working experience ever. I totally understand why nobody wants them near by
121
Can you elaborate the working behaviour of them
9
What do you mean by sucked energy? Pls share experiences
7
I worked with some too, they looked nice but it was my worst working experience ever.
8
Yes, the labour conditions in the Arab countries are much better. They really care about human rights there!
2
@ei5916 This statement by no means discredits gio's original statement.
2
@misstunes1765  when someone holds one country to a certain standard but not other countries it shows the person's bias and agenda. I did write a more detailed response to the op but it was deleted...
1
@ei5916  True, but what do you know of Glo to make that determination? She only recounted her experience with Israelis. She wasn't talking about working with Italians, Chinese or Arabs. Glo only expresses an understanding of why others don't prefer to work with Israelis as a result of that experience. To project Your bias against Arabs, you're making a leap of perception in your assumption about Glo. I'm not saying Glo doesn't have a bias, I'm just saying there isn't enough factual evidence from her statement here to justify accusing her of it. I hate that YouTube deletes comments. I began typing mine some place else then pasting them in if they delete them
2
Thank you for your courageous testimony in favor of the Palestinian people
182
Great speech..message to be heard by the world... From the bottom of my heart I thank him for being so truthful to Palestinians issues..god bless u
33
God bless you Mr Levy . You deserve a huge respect and love.
61
Thank you for the truth ❤
4
For me this journalist is one of the bravest Israelis on the planet, never afraid to speak truth to power. May he live a long life and continue to support his Palestinian neighbours with his words and actions 🙏👏👏
23
Amen, amen, amen, amen, amen .... What I just heard from this man sounded like a prayer to me, amen. He spoke the truth, the absolute truth of what is really happening. May God bless his heart. This is a man of truth. Kudos.
125
So necessary, so lucid, so humane. Universal values, indeed 🙏🏽✌🏽🙏🏽
141
Humanity as whole must do something. Before it's to late
7
Gideon Levy deserves a Nobel award for peace..
96
35
May Allah bless you for saying the truth , for making this sad issue clear to the world. The Tunisian- Palestinian from Sydney
17
Thank you Gideon Levy, to speak as you are speaking, to think as you are thinking, to teach as you are teaching !!! Thanks to exist !!
7
This kind of unapologetic, brutal honesty is extremely hard to find nowadays...
14
This reminds me so much of South Africa when apartheid was in full swing. The white people in power did not think of the black population as humans and so everything they did to them was justified in their eyes.
51
Wow his words really got me they really sink in
27
Thank you, sir. Important truths spoken humbly and eloquently.
7
Very simple. Very clear. Very eloquent.
22
That is the best speech I heard of this so called complex Situation…
25
Please keep speaking Mr. Levy. Your voice needs to be heard.
23
Gideon Levy, A Genuine Human Being. Honesty, Integrity, Gravitas, Morality. Qualities Netanyahu is incapable of.
19
A wonderful lecture. I hope everyone listens to it
44
Thank you for speaking up sir, thank you for telling the truth ❤
33
What an amazing, beautiful man who can speak with so much justice. Reminds me of a verse in the holy quran it goes something like this, oh believers stand up for justice even if it be against your own selves.
18
Bravehearts of the real Jews with respect Gideon Levy ❤️ Miko peled Norman finkelstein 💚Avi Shlaim
5
Brilliant summary- well done Gideon. The "chosen people" notion has come across all too often with Israeli tourists, some buy the cheapest cars to get around, and are usually rude when we offer to help them with problems, something which is natural for us Kiwis.
18
Thank you sir!! Thank you so much!! You just shown me that there are still some humanity left in this world even among Isreali. I thought of the same thing as you said and it leave me feeling depressed, lonely and a bit like I'm crazy for years!! But I'm glad you said it out loud afferming my sanity. When you consider other people are nothing but animals you can live with any atrocities you commit against them bloody decade after bloody decade... but 1 day they will fight back and surprise you.

May Allah guide him, Norman Finkelstein, and other Jews who risked a lot to be righteous in times where some of our scholars and muftis are afraid to even mention the genocide in Gaza.

I was born in the North of England in the 1960s in relative poverty and without religion. What I have in common with everyone I know, in fact, with everyone on the planet, is that I chose NONE of those things. When anyone tries to explain to me their innate superiority over others, I always ask… and at what point did you decide to be born (fill in the gap)? Chance could have made any of us Palestinian, or Israeli, for that matter. Recognizing our shared humanity is what makes us better people.
