About the Author
Andrew Feinstein is the author of After the Party: A Personal and Political Journey Inside the ANC, a best-selling memoir of his time as an African National Congress Member of Parliament in South Africa. His journalism has been featured in the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, Prospect, the New York Times, Der Spiegel, the New Statesman and Africa Report. In 2011 he authored the lead article in the authoritative Sipri Yearbook. He appears regularly on the BBC, CNN and Al Jazeera. He has recently been an Open Society Institute International Fellow and is the founding co-director of Corruption Watch, an anti-corruption NGO, and chairperson of the Aids charity FoTAC.

Though written in 2011 this book makes the number of boat people trying to leave Africa for Europe in 2015 more understandable. The arms trade gives those controlling oil or diamonds the power to control people as well. Arms are durable and easily get into the wrong hands where they can be used to maim and kill those of different belief. This is a well-researched and documented book. I too wonder why the permanent members of the UN Security Council are so keen to finance military research and license overseas arms sales!

일본의 무기 수출과 그 영향을 생각하는데 이 책에 나오는 영국의 처처 총리와 그 주변 사람들의 상황은 특히 의미가 있다. 즉, 자신들의 동료의 이익을 위해 지구의 반대편까지 나가서 전쟁한 것이 아닌가? 라는 의문. 분명한 부정 행위를 국가 기밀을 방패로 추구도 되지 않겠습니까? 라는 의문. 어느 나라의 기밀보호법은 부정한 정치가를 지키기 위해서인가? 라는 의문이 나오는 것이다.
