The Cyril Foster Lecture is Oxford University’s principal annual guest lecture in the field
of International Relations. It has attracted a most distinguished group of lecturers. It is named after Cyril Foster, a candy shop owner who requested Oxford to arrange for a ‘prominent and sincere speaker to deliver onceevery year a lecture to be known as “The Cyril Foster Lecture” dealing with the elimination of war and the better understanding of the nations of the world.’
