Saying Bangladesh was the poorest part of British India is kind of misleading, because it was the richest region in India which was the richest region in the world, Bengal had trade connections with ancient Rome and china. Much of the Ottoman fleet was made in Chittagong port.
The British made Bengal poor.

British Nowadays: What a poor country Bangladesh is, very sad

British in 1757: What a wealthy region it is, let's took some by exploiting them and staring clash between religions

Bangladeshis are very education-minded people. A lot of engineering professors and students in the US are from Bangladesh. Very impressive.

USA actually fully supported and aided  the genocide of Bangladesh. Seemed to have missed that part

One thing you missed about the genocide is why it’s described as a genocide. It wasn’t just the mass killing, but the methodical and premeditated way the Pakistani government had gone about it. They had compiled lists of every Bengali with any substantial education, fully intending to wipe out the entirety of the intellectual class they saw as the root of the independence movement.

The Bengal area was on of the richest areas pre British time, it was contributing 20 percent of the entire subcontinent till this date no state in the world has been able to put such contributions. California is close but not yet there even with Sillicon Valley. The Bengal part is full of water and has on of the most arable and fertile land in the world.

Bangladesh's leap was due to investment in education. Adult literacy rose from 58% to 75% between 2020 and 2008. That's enough to be a middle-income country. But to take another leap, they must invest in STEM. What Latin America and other regions didn't do and got stuck as middle income countries

I truly appreciate the resilience of Bangladeshi/Bengali people, Every year 1/3 of  the country goes under water for months still delivers explosive growth. It is truly a miracle. Kudos!!

The Bengal Delta province wasn't the Poorest part(it was one of the richest) of the Indian Subcontinent. It was always the most fertile and coveted region for any Indian Empire and no wonder the Colonial British started their loot from this region. How can you get such an important fact wrong within 30 seconds of the video?

Bangladesh went from being a war ravaged nation which faced a cyclone, war, genocide, famine to now being one of the fastest growing economies in the world with some of the best social and economic indicators in the region. Bangladesh’s rapid development is testament to the endless toil of our people. Joy Bangla 🇧🇩

How convenient it is to just forget the fact that the US facilitated the Bengali genocide & also Richard Nixon's racist rant against Bengali & Indians which was declassified by the US themselves.

Bengal was one of the richest trading destinations for the Europeans who arrived with superior weapons and invaded in stead of just trading.
So it is very misleading to just start from the 1947 or 1971.
But our history of not invading other countries isn’t sexy at all!
Bangladesh has self sustaining features with fertile soil sufficient water and decent working populations.
Unfortunately corruption and incompetence among the bureaucrats and politicians have been a perineal problem.
Because of political expediency they failed to mention the role of Dr Mohammad Yunus  in pioneering of the woman’s rights and emancipation !
Late Mr Nurul Qader, a retired high officer who single-handedly started the entire Garments sector after he went to S Korea and learned about the garments industries.
Other than that every one takes credit for the pioneering work these two unique people did.
Inshallah we will be just fine never mind the corrupt and incompetent bureaucrats.

correction: Bengal was the richest region of the entire world producing 26% of worlds entire GDP alone in the 16th and 17th century before british criminal family alongside other european criminal families robbed them and stole their wealth. please do better research about the history before making any content.

Wrong we weren't poor. We were the richest in the world. Our manufacturing was the best in the world. You also forgot to mention how pakistan survived because it robbed most of bangladesh money. Most industry was set in bangladesh

You should have also include how USA was silent during genocide and even sent it's aircraft carrier to crush Indian efforts in liberation although USSR helped in avoiding conflict with USA

"Vanga" has always been the most prosperous region of India. This part of the country has always been engaged in trading with South east asian nations and many other countries. "Vanga" always been the centre of education and prospertity. Tamralipta port was one of the greatest port of whole Asia. Even before that, it was part of "Anga", one of the 16 Mahajanapadas, "Anga" had very deep cultural relations with "Subarnabhumi" or Indo-Chin region. Modern Bangladesh is part of "Vanga".

Some corrections: in 1947, British colonial south
asia was divided upon the concept of two-nations theory, between Hindus and Muslims, which is cleverly opted out by the narrator.
The south asia was divided into many kingdoms in
which india was just a part of it. It was not a dividation  of india, rather a dividation of the British colony of south-asia. The role of America in support towards pakistan is also missing from the documentary.
