IDF Soldiers Took Palestinian Man's Money and Credit Cards at Checkpoint, Went Unpunished
Haaretz has learned that after the Palestinian man filed a complaint with the IDF liaison unit, Israeli soldiers admitted the act to their commanders and the property was returned. However, the army denies that the soldiers intentionally took the money

Haaretz reported months ago about the theft in the West Bank - of house hold items, computers, cell phones, jewelry, cash (including from children's 'piggy banks') - by soldiers who were searching Palestinian homes or temporarily occupied them during raids seeking illegal weapons. And, of course, leaving the homes strewn with items scattered about - including food stores dumped on the floors as a result of those searches.

This is just a cased then of the soldiers at the checkpoint taking an opportunity to get their share of the 'action.'

we can extrapolate the character of whole society based on a few actions of several people. There is universal conscription which means almost everyone is drafted. Im sure they dont take the cream of the crop into guarding checkpoints.

Im not justifying it or excusing it..its just happens .

Of course petty theft by israelis is the worst international crime ever in the history of crime according to the commenters. Nothing like torture and death squads of the palestinians hamas but who cares about facts when you can have a good story

Nah it's just one more incident among literally millions. And many heinous crimes against humanity. You should read up on it. Haaretz is a good place to start. +972 also. And a million IDF troop instagrams and WhatsApp posts in the field. The truth is out there. The perps documented it themselves! Nuthin like Israeli arrogance! Good luck!

Indeed, theft is a less abominable crime than the torture, genocide and starvation inflicted by the IDF on Palestinians.

But it is important to call it out to understand how far the rot has spread, how little consideration there is for rules and how Palestinians are considered less than nothing.

The "official" explanation is a farce

And so, the story we are told is essentially that here were soldiers, minding their business, when somehow (an ill wind?) the contents of a passing Palestinian's wallet flew into their hands. And then a DECISION had to be made to return the items. A DECISION--not some automatic response. And then the soldiers were not punished because they were innocent!! After all, how can they control ill winds that blow things around? Maybe the wind was a Leftist, trying to make them look bad. Yes--that's it. The Left-wing wind will eventually be found at fault because there's always a Leftist behind every bad turn--correct?

It's not just the IDF. It's the whole society and its colluding media. This theft and the IDF's shameless lies about it will not be reported anywhere else in Israeli major media, and the public and media are very content with that: The farce of Israel's 'liberal' investigative journalism. A recent exposé on the killing of three hostages by Israeli soldiers highlights how even critical news programs form part of an architecture of public denial. Theater of the absurd and utter rubbish: "Israeli soldiers stold money unintentionally....." according to the army spokesperson. I have served in the Israeli army for quite some time many years ago. In my time too there was some looting. Contrary to what Israeli propagandists likes to state I never had the impression to have served "in the most moral army of the world" but it scares me that an official spokesman of the army is capable to express such a blatant lie.... it would be interesting to learn what the intention was of the soldier who took the money.... Israel is going down the drain and I am very much afraid that this will continue to happen even when Netanyahu and his Kahanist government will lose the election (of which I am not so sure...).

In addition to its pariah statehood, the latest news confirms that the IDF is operating lawlessly. Genocide in Gaza and illegal land theft and occupation of the West Bank and the continued breaking of every agreement since 1949 while the world still does deals with Israel.

BOYCOTT, DIVESTMENT AND SANCTIONS MUST BE PUT IN PLACE BY EVERY COUNTRY. HIT WHERE IT WORKS, FINANCIALLY

The court said for it not to be a genocide Israel had to allow enough food and medicine in Gaza, preserve the evidence and prosecute genocidal expressions. Israel did *the exact opposite*. Which actually is enough to prove the genocidal intent, by the way.

You have been told that, repeatedly. You have never addressed this point. You just clutch your "there is no genocide because I say so". The court will be very impressed by the argument, definitely.

When the boy cried wolf once too often he stopped being believed. It happens when soldiers remain unpunished for committing criminal and/or violent acts. How are we, the public, meant to react when we know this is a far too-regular occurrence?
